Pond Time by janetb

Pond Time

At the pond this morning, I enjoyed watching koi, comets, and our lone shubunkin sail around nabbing every last morsel of food that I tossed onto the surface of the water. Our oldest and largest fish, this white koi, led the way for the others.

Through the sound of water gurgling along the stream bed and falling over the rocks into the pond, I heard the raspy clucks of a band of young, demanding grackles as they followed their parents around begging for food. Perched on the mushroom stool enveloped by the graceful, arching branches of two Japanese maples, colorful perennials, and nature sounds, I lingered. No sunshine today. The cloud-filled sky promises to give the garden a good, long, nourishing drink; and the plants will look all the prettier for it!

This image looks best to me when viewed on the black background.

Thank you all so very much for visiting my project and for your comments and favs. I'm delighted by your support!
