I didn't intend to make any pictures today, but I took my camera on my garden walk just in case something irresistible spoke to me. It didn't take long. I only got a few steps from the deck when these vibrant maple leaves called out from behind the fence. Our woodlands' autumn colors are far from reaching their peak, but nobody told this young maple!
I thought I'd try "shooting through," so I tucked myself beneath a Japanese maple — the one in the garden that's been growing crooked since the day we planted it — and the sunlight grew even brighter the moment I began to focus.
I'm always thankful for reminders: the Light always brightens when I focus on it.
Come forth into the light of things. Let nature be your teacher.
