Just to the right of the where we watched the damselflies stood a patch of thistle, most gone to seed but some, like these, still blooming. Prickly little things, those thistles.
I praise you, Lord, for the beauty of the seasons on display at the lake.
Thistles flowers really are a beautiful; they're a loathed plants by local farmers but I love them because the Goldfinches are drawn to them. Pretty picture.
