It Sits Right There Every Year

To John —

I loved cross-stitching this while I watched you snowboard at Boyce Park! You bring so much joy to my life!

Love,
Mom
January, 2002

I remember, and I don't need that handwritten note on the back to help me; because when school got canceled on that snowy day and I took some kids to Boyce, joy came along! I can still see the snowflakes gently falling, gazing out the big window at laughing kids while I stitched. This treasured decoration sits right there every year beside the coffee pot where every glance at it takes me back to 11-year-old John bundled up and smiling.

I praise you, Lord, for memories of joyful, snowy, "school's canceled" days.
The photo is lovely and your words are beautiful. Such a fabulous memory.

What a great memory and momento. I am a mother of sons as well and know that feeling well! Beautiful vignette!

I call moments like that "frozen memories," the kind that transport you back in a sensory way.

Lovely shot of the pretty work - I, too, enjoyed cross-stitching and have made many for friends.
