Samson belongs to a 'punt tout' on King's Parade - they persuade tourists to go on guided tours on the river - unfortunately the King's Parade ones are not licensed and are a bit of a pain. Samson's owner is a big solid, quite handsome fellow not unlike his dog. I was trying to get Monty to take an interest in some cuddly dogs in a shop window so I could get a mildly humorous photo but not surprisingly he was slightly distracted by an enormous real dog wandering over. He barked and Samson who is a bit of a sensitive giant slunk back to his 'bed' by the student outfitters. Any guesses what breed he is?
Never heard of that breed before....he is a big softy by the sounds of it! Funny how dogs usually get to,look like their owners or the other way round!

Great capture of his expression and his bed! The trouble with walking about with a camera is that you're much more likely to be asked if you want to go on a punt!
I've heard of these dogs - they do not have a good reputation unfortunately - unless well trained from a puppy! Gentle giants until the hidden aggression takes over!
