Ok I'm going to say it - it's too hot! Good news - the local shop still had fans in stock, the new mobile hammock I ordered to arrive yesterday arrived today and was easy to assemble and is very comfy. Bad news - I've been too busy to lie in it. But in the scheme of the world at the moment.....
In other good news Adam is home with a friend from uni so that's nice enough though my involvement is limited to lifts and food.
Meanwhile my investment in cut flowers beds is reaping rewards.
Beautiful jug & suitable flowers to grace it's originality! I like it hot myself but it's probably cooler up here anyway. I like the sound of a portable hammock but sadly think I might be too old to climb in it!
Love those little puffns. Very cute for a vase. Fun still life.... Yes, hot here too. We're getting upwards pretty close to 100 degees F. (almost 40 C.) summer has arrived.
@happypat 33C yesterday and today Pat and hot at night. Last night I walked Monty at 10pm and I was still dripping. Bit cooler tonight- v pleasant in the hammock which you would have no trouble getting in! Doing my weekly swim in the outdoor pool tomorrow- will have to keep moving in there I think!
The flowers are gorgeous and especially with the bokeh behind. I realised on our trip to Cambodia last year, where hammocks were common place, just how comfortable they can be. Wishing you many happy hours relaxing. It is far too hot for me and the office is ridiculous.
Lovely! I am so annoyed with myself. I have a cut flower bed (kids old sand pit) and have failed to put anything in it this year. It usually brings me such joy. Mind you I usually fail dismally with sweet peas, which are my fave flower for the house.
I agree with whoever said that the DOF is lovely in this.
@jantan I've always been depressed about sweet peas but this year I read Sarah Raven's leaflet that said pinch out he growing tips (at about 8"?) and they are transformed!! I've even invested in some comfrey pellets as apparently it makes great feed.
@jantan ha ha yes he might just do that, I might google them, I have birthday coming up! Funny I have always wanted a hammock but no suitable apart trees. Our daughter has just ordered this fabulous hammock type swing which I am tempted to get!
@judithg by the way our linen sheets from Dunhelm Mill are absolutely fantastic Dorma, half price, I have just been for another set today so we have a change!
