ETSOOI'd election

The only saving grace of this photo is that I took it today. It's a two horse race in Cambridge.
Rather a frustrating day as I waited in for the boiler to be serviced and the man didn't turn up ('Oh I'm sorry - you should have had a call to say he's running really late' - not as sorry as I was...). Anyway - I quite efficiently caught up on myself and was back in time to take a hen to the vet. We don't normally do that but I can only watch a hen dying slowly for so long... She's had antibiotics, her crop flushed out and she's in the utility room. She's had a LOT to drink and fished the meal worms out of her food so all is not lost yet.
Was only last commenting to hubby that round these parts we don't have posters like this. I remember them from my youth and miss them! So fav for giving me a dose of nostalgia

Oh and talking of frustrations, my bank kindly cancelled my card when trying to purchase the kiddies a climbing frame at the weekend, not because we didn't have the funds which we did but because it was "unusual" activity. They only then took two days to tell me this fact..... Unusual.....is it normal to buy climbing frames each week? Hurumgh....

@newbank Well that's a very generous fav - you can't move for boards round here - quite interesting in the wind today. My bank does that every time we go abroad - and your cards cancelled is just what you need!

We have quite a few posters up in our part of the world but it was a one horse race last time. Not so sure this time as we have the fracking element so there are lots of Independant anti fracking posters mixed with Conservative.......wil be interesting! I like this documentation of the election...good diary photo!

Forgot to mention the hen......you are a dedicated hen lover....which one is it....not the white one with the amazing name? Poor girl I hope she recovers! You are doing her proud!

@happypat That's the one Pat - was a little embarrassing when the vet asked her name and I had to say, 'Powerz Dragonslayer'. Anyway - Nigel's been having a fit. If she's better tomorrow I have to get more antibiotics as well - and she doesn't lay!

@judithg @happypat our exciting news of the day was we are now pet owners. We have hamsters. Not your usual type mind...... They are 2 and 1ps being feed on rubbers and nesting in a blue jay cloth.... Love your hens name! Our hamsters are yet to be named....

@judithg how truly embarrassing Judith.........blame Adam! I know what you mean though you can't just let them die!
May 5th, 2015
@newbank that child is nothing if not imaginative!
May 5th, 2015
@newbank so exciting Ruth....your boys will be great pet owners! Not quite sure what 2 & 1ps are ..fed on rubbers too....are they real proper live hamsters?
May 5th, 2015
@happypat No Pat they are not. 2 and 1p means a tub filled with 1 pence pieces and 2 pence pieces that are "hamsters" I have spent many an hour today stroking them! They are much more tame than real ones, they don't bite and don't make any mess....

@judithg Eldest was much the same. I thought it had passed littlest by but no v suddenly it has been all imaginary play, I am a little exhausted after our multitude of train, plane, campervan, car journeys today all with the hamsters in tow.... Tomorrow I am a lady that lunches whilst he is at pre school...
May 5th, 2015
@newbank well at least you don't need to clean out any cages...
May 5th, 2015
@newbank Well I think you should get guinea pigs, they talk to you each time you go past their hutch....drives you mad!
May 5th, 2015
@happypat two boys is quite sufficient for my patience and energy at the moment!!

@newbank don't get a Furbie what ever you do!!

I don't know why people put these things in the garden / window etc. It only acts to wind people up and it is a secret ballot. Oh and my wise Grandad once told me don't argue politics or religion with your friends because they will soon not be friends anymore

Nice retro feel to this judith

While on the subject of the election, I'm hoping I can get a couple of 50 mono portraits at my polling station (we are doing general and local election votes) as you can usually find someone with a rosette outside the polling station :)

In Bedford Borough we have the most election decisions to make in the whole of the UK. I don't think it will be that difficult though. Nice shot but l can't imagine why people put these awful boards/stickers in their gardens/houses.

Cool editing!

I sympathise with you but when we had hens on our large property, if they got sick, they left this world without a head! I refused to name them because I knew this would happen.

@maggiemae I'm afraid it was put out of its misery this morning - Nigel said she wasn't really conscious and he was quick. :0(
