As a graduate student at St John's I got to live in what they refer to as a 'College Hostel' which was a beautiful huge house on the Madingley Road - the likes of which I will never aspire to again! Although I think it must be special to live in the ancient college courts, 'in my day' that did tend to mean freezing in the winter and walking across the courts in your dressing gown and slippers for the loo or a shower. These days they have at least made provision for women! Anyway - my bold statement about taking a photo on the day has failed already - this is another from yesterday. I did take some gloomy pictures in Saffron Walden but I don't want to depress you with them. In other news an Instagram site called 'cambridgetown' reposted my misty bridge photo and it's about to hit 1000 'Likes'. I'm easily pleased!
So fabulous! Love this image!
And I'm not the least bit surprised that your misty bridge photo has received so many Likes. I suspect it will receive many, many more.
The ancient architecture where you live just moves me... nothing that old or exquisite here! But I like my modern conveniences too much to live in an old house. Congrats on the Instagram popularity!
Excellent shot. I love how the doorway frames the student. I have never visited Cambridge in all my years of travel as a scientist. I want uld love to go sometime. It looks fabulous!
She looks as though she is hurrying off to work laden down with work. All your photos of Cambridge are wonderful & we couldn't care less when you took them Judith. Well done on your lovely misty photo.
Well done - you do have some beautiful shots worthy of a 1000 and many more likes. The daily challenge is a big ask isn't it? but it is good to see the variety of shots the challenge of the circumstances of the day can bring. Your shot here with the three doorways is interesting, and so very Cambridge.
