Another freezing cold sunny day and we joined the throngs walking down by the river. The resident kingfisher was absent but there were a couple of heron looking a bit lackadaisical about fishing- maybe it’s to confuse the fish... There’s a v good coffee stand at the Museum of Technology but we didn’t fancy the cold queue (even though it was very disciplined and well spaced) so I went in search of a Dinky Door that’s been there for a while but I keep forgetting to look for it. Dinky Doors is a lovely little secret outfit that builds and installs mini portals to other worlds. There are at least 9 I can think of and no doubt a few more will feature here. They are joyful little additions to the town and a real gift to those with children to entertain. Some are in need of a bit of TLC after lockdown- this one has always had a few problems as the Supreme Leader obviously didn’t pass the parking part of the test.
Weather: perishing
Covid: vaccinations opened up to the over 65’s
Good things: cup of tea, fire lit, not allowed to go anywhere.
I'm getting in. I fancy a change. Also this is much better than bolting them to trees which is what the local pub did here. All to sell more coffees...
I never knew about the Dinky Doors. I want to play!
I think today was the coldest day ever, must have been the East Wind but couldn’t raise my body temperature.
@peggysirk yes though you couldn’t do all of them in one go (at least not on foot!). There’s another of my favourites just along from here though so it’s a top walk!
I absolutely love that! What a brilliantly fun idea. WIsh I was small enough to climb up that ladder and checked out the alien worlds inside.......though I bet they are laughing about how humans mash potato!!
