I don't know if it works having the sheep a bit out of focus but taking any sort of picture in a field of sheep while holding a spaniel in one hand is almost impossible so here we go. And it shows the folly that the people in the other shot are walking up to: http://365project.org/judithg/365/2011-08-10
it does work Judith, rather well actually. I can sympathise about dog and camera in different hands. Most of my local 'Arnold' shots are with whippet and lead in left hand !!
From Wikipedia -"They have no purpose other than as an ornament. Often they have some of the appearance of a building constructed for a particular purpose, but this appearance is a sham". Oh, so it's like the word "folly" I know. Just architectural.
@judithg@bpaquette I, too, had no clue what a "folly" was in this situation. Not an American thing, I guess. What a concept! Our rich people who want to waste their money usually just buy some expensive car. haha....it is very pretty. So you cannot even go in the tower part or anything? Weird. I love the framing of this photo with the slightly off focus sheep in the foreground.
@espyetta@bpaquette I think it isbeing renovated so that's it's safe at the moment and then I expect you will be able to go in the tower - but it was built to look like a ruin and was never lived in. There is a company that makes folly kits - you can buy a really nice ruin for you garden for about £2000!!
