Unencumbered by a convent school education (unlike myself) Adam happily broke into various college grounds a couple of days ago to take some photos for next term's art project on "The built environment'. You can tell by the shadows that it was evening and he was thrown out by various porters so he was snapping fast before they reached him! I suspect that if he'd gone in via the Porters' Lodges and asked them they would have let him in but that would have meant more cycling. And I suspect if he hadn't been a youth in a hoody (it was cold) they would have left him alone but that's life - and he wasn't bothered - he just moved on to the next college! I would have been mortified of course!
This is Trinity, taken from the other side of the river - I must get myself down there the next time the light is like this - via the correct gates!! He has been doing alsorts of funky overlay things and is basing his project around some urban pixorama artists but I like the simplicity of Christopher Wren.
fantastic image here.... so perfect, that it almost looks like a setting. love the shadows on the green grass and the choice of bench slightly to side is superb. well done... so professional!
Splendid shot! The lines of shadows on the immaculate lawn are marvelous ~ as are the colors and, of course, the spectacular architectural details. I'm the product of parochial school as well, Episcopal Day School, perhaps that's what happened to my nerve...I've never been a gate crasher or fence jumper...darn it. :) This shot is just beautiful!
Adam has done a super shot here Judith, I think he's got his mother's eye for a photo .......perhaps your 365 has influenced him (I remember you saying he often advises you on picture choice)
This is a gorgoues shot, but I had to laugh at your story that you would have been morta ( as we say) but can you imagine if you did as he did, he would have died of embarresment that his mum been so bold.
I gather Adam took this shot Judith & my word what an excellent job he has made of it !! It takes the confidence of youth to get where you want these days & no terrible guilt that we are plagued with !! Such a stylish shot with those beautiful shadows across the lawns, the dips in the light & shade & then the simple bench just to the foreground !! A future 365er perhaps !
