I really wanted to do something different with this photo. Who really wants another boring picture of a church, right? So what I ended up doing was running this through an HDR filter to pull out the colors, but I then added a filter to pull out the deep edge lines and blurred the background significantly. I wanted this to appear closer to an artist rendering of the church. The background is a sandstone texture. A series of levels and saturation adjustments brought out the cartoon effect I was looking for.
