Tranquil

I ended up with a pair of meetings that left very little time to grab today’s photo, so I headed over to the Barrington River Bridge for a “safety shot.” There’s normally something there worthy of a photo, so it’s one of my fall back locations if I’m pressed for time as I was today. The location did not disappoint. The Barrington Harbor Patrol boat was docked near shore with the newly built bridge providing a nice architectural background. I wish I could have gotten this shot from the other side of the boat, though. What struck me was the height of the boat compared to the height of the bridge that carries the East Bay Bike Path over the river. While this boat will easily pass under the bridge you see in the photo, it cannot pass under the Bike Path bridge at high tide as it was today! This means the Harbor Patrol has no easy way to access the upper stretch of the river or 100 Acre Cove, both of which are popular with kayakers but which have some rather difficult stretches that could pose problems for inexperienced paddlers. Someone didn’t plan ahead, and since the bike path follows and old train bed, I suspect the poor planner is whoever bought the boat.

Processing was kept to a bare minimum today. I resisted the urge to convert this to black and white, although believe me, the urge was quite strong! Instead, I ran this through a photo pop filter in Topaz Adjust followed by a slight levels adjustment for contrast. That’s it. As I said, it was pretty simple processing today.
I like it in the colour, the blues are gorgeous, so calming :)
Somebody did stuff up, that is a big mistake to make! I am sure he/she has heard a bit about that!
