I've had my eye on this house for quite some time. There's something about old, chipped and peeling paint that catches my eye. I was thinking this would be a great "safety shot" and was reserving it for a day where I was limited in time or lacking in inspiration. Well, today I noticed that the front of the house had a fresh coat of paint, so my safety shot was about to disappear! As a result, I had to take the shot before they spoiled that wonderfully chipped paint job with a fresh coat. The fact that the fence was also peeling pretty bad just added to the charm.
Post processing started with a detail light filter in Topaz Adjust. I then adjusted the levels and toned down the saturation a bit. The final layer was a deep blue photo filter on the sky.
