Benefit Street in Providence dates to the Colonial Period. The houses seen in this photo were all built before the American Revolution. The street lights, will modern, are designed to resemble the gas lamps of the mid-19th century. With a slight change of attire, the gentleman walking up Benefit Street in today's photo could easily fit into any of the last 300 years. The scene is unchanged. These houses, and this scene, have stood the test of time.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz Adjust. I then adjusted the color sensitivity sliders for improved contrast. I also adjusted adaptive exposure, contrast, boost black, and boost white. In PSE I applied a levels adjustment just to the sky, followed by a levels adjustment to everything except the sky. A contrast adjustment followed, and a sepia photo filter formed the top layer.
