I Can't Believe the Huskies Won

Looking for a change in scenery, I headed to Haines Park in Barrington for today's photo. There are usually a few walkers, cyclists, and fishermen in the park, so I was hoping to continue my street photography series. As it turns out, there was just this gentleman walking his reluctant Boston Terrier. I say reluctant because it was clear the pup wanted to be anyplace but there. The look on his face is priceless, and that leads us to the caption of today's photo.

There are four Division One college hockey teams in Boston: Boston College, Boston University, Harvard, and Northeastern. Every year, they meet at the TD Bank Garden for a tournament known as the Beanpot. The rivalries are intense, and winning the Beanpot is as important to these teams as the entire rest of the season. This past Monday the first game in the semi-finals was played between the Northeastern Huskies and the Boston University Terriers. The Huskies won, 3-2. As you can see in today's photo, this Terrier is clearly not pleased with the results.

Post processing today started with a standard greyscale conversion in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, followed by adaptive exposure, regions, boost black, boost white, and protect highlights. I adjusted brightness and contrast in PSE and topped it off with a sepia photo filter.

Yeah. I suppose it's obvious Ron that he would be upset that the huskies won! He's a picture of dejection, take me home, anywhere but here.

Love this shot and the caption. My monty would never refuse a walk even if I do stop every 5secs to take a picture! I have had my new camera for two weeks and taken over 1200 shots in that time!

@shelldunn I had a beagle that was very reluctant to head outdoors. Her name was Princess, and believe me, she was convinced it was her title. Trying to get her outdoors if there was even a hint of moisture on the ground was comical. You'd think the lawn was coated in acid by the way she'd try to balance on a single toenail to avoid getting her paws wet.
