Easter Flowers

Small roadside florists dot the Rhode Island landscape several weekends each year. This small stand is selling colorful spring flowers for Easter, celebrated today by Western Christian churches. (The Eastern Orthodox Churches will celebrate Easter on May 5.) Rhode Island is predominantly Roman Catholic, and most residents celebrate Easter today. In today's photo, a young couple is trying to select a bouquet with the owner of the stand looking on and smiling in the background. For the record, I did consider converting this to black and white, but the conversion masked the numerous tones in the floral arrangements.

Post processing started with a brilliant cold filter in Topaz Adjust. I then adjusted adaptive exposure, regions, and contrast. A levels adjustment was added in PSE and I then applied a 25% dodge to the highlights in the deep black tones.

Here's the high res version in Smugmug: http://kannafoot.smugmug.com/Photo-Challenges/PAD2013/i-Q3GBz2g/0/XL/2013%2003%2031_0009%20copy-XL.jpg
Lovely clear shot, Ron. The way they are dressed suggests the weather is not as bitter as it has been here for the last week or so.

@wordpixman Thanks, Arthur. The weather is not as warm as the guy in the T-Shirt would suggest, but it's definitely improving!
