Clams to Go

It's not possible to travel through Warren, Rhode Island without encountering the name "Blount." The Blount family was prominent in the 18th and 19th century as shipbuilders, mariners, and ultimately as seafood suppliers. They are still engaged in each of those industries today, and they have opened a series of small take-out "Clam Shacks" throughout the state. Let's face it, with a state nickname of "The Ocean State," you have to know that Rhode Islander's love seafood. Clam cakes and chowder - pronounced "chow-duh" in Little Rhody - are popular year round, and these small shacks specialize in both. The one in today's photo is in front of the historic Crescent Park carousel in East Providence.

Post processing started with a brilliant cold filter in Topaz Adjust. I then adjusted adaptive exposure, contrast, and details. A levels adjustment and a saturation adjustment were added in PSE.
