Waterfront Boarding by kannafoot

Waterfront Boarding

After a string of color photos in my project, I started going into b&w withdrawal. The symptoms are not pretty. To get the feel of "true photography" back in my bloodstream, I headed downcity for some street photography. I spotted this skateboarder walking along the waterfront, so I knelt down to compose a shot and I just motioned to him to come towards me. That's all he needed for a prompt, and you can see the smile on his face as he moved along the brick patio.

Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted adaptive exposure, color sensitivity, regions, boost black, boost white, and contrast. A levels adjustment and a sepia photo filter were added in PSE.

Here's the high res version in Smugmug: http://kannafoot.smugmug.com/Photo-Challenges/PAD2013/i-TwKfSFN/0/XL/2013%2008%2015_0051%20copy-XL.jpg
"true" What does that mean?

@tigerdreamer LOL I've a couple of friends that comment (on FB) everytime I post a B&W shot instead of a color one. So I've been poking back at them, telling them that color film was a late-comer to the art and just corrupted the nature of "true photography." Just a fun banter that we've been having for most of the year, now. So my "true photography" comment in the description here was a poke at them. It had the desired effect in their FB comments .
