Model Yachting

I had nothing specific in mind for today's photo, but my thought was to get gas - I was on empty - and then head to Pawtucket for some photos along the Blackstone. My car, however, decided otherwise. After getting gas, I took a couple of wrong turns and found myself heading towards Route 10 instead of I-95. Since my car seemed bound and determined to visit Roger Williams Park, and it outweighs me considerably, I decided to humor the beast and see if there was anything interesting going on. I should listen to my car more often. As soon as I pulled into the park I spotted these members of the Narragansett Model Yachting Associating racing their model sailboats in the pond. It turns out that they're here every other week throughout the summer, so there's the potential for some more photos during one of their regattas. The group has been active since the early 1970s and is affiliated with the American Model Yachting Association.

Post processing started with a brilliant cold filter in Topaz Adjust. I made minor adjustments to adaptive exposure, regions, and contrast. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
