There are several late-night food trucks that still have a home on Rhode Island's streets. The granddaddy of them all is Haven Bros. This tradition started in 1888 when the Haven family parked their horse-drawn wagon here. The trailer you see in tonight's photo was built in 1930, and the tradition continued. The Haven Bros. trailer is parked next to the Providence City Hall every night, regardless of the weather. Over 1000 burgers and hot dogs are sold on a typical weekend night.
This photo was taken with my 16-35mm f/2.8L at 28mm. ISO was 3200, aperture was f/2.8, shutter was 1/60. A +1 exposure compensation was set due to the bright reflections off the truck.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted adaptive exposure, regions, color sensitivity sliders, boost black, boost white, contrast, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
This is a fabulous shot and a terrific story to go with it. Your photos in smugmug are so perfect. We tried to take action shots at a skate park tonight (poor subject made the same jump for us over and over), and we caught the action, but the lighting was awful (too grainy). It's given me a great appreciation for your ability to do shots like this.
