Bus Stop by kannafoot

Bus Stop

I went downcity at lunch today, hoping to get a photo of Tony the Dancing Cop. He's a retired Providence Police Officer that is brought out of retirement every December to direct traffic on the corner of Weybosset and Dorrance Streets. His performance is not to be missed. Whether it was the cold or some other reason, though, Tony wasn't there today. Instead, I wandered down to Kennedy Plaza and spotted this gentleman sitting on the steps of a large statue, waiting for a bus out of the city. Those steps have got to be cold! Standing in the cold wind, though, would have been worse, so overall I'd say he picked the better option.

Post processing started with a neutral greyscale filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, brightness, boost black, boost white, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.

Here's the high res version in Smugmug: http://kannafoot.smugmug.com/Photo-Challenges/PAD2013/i-GJtvjLD/0/XL/2013%2012%2013_0003%20copy-XL.jpg

I love the black and white! It gives a unique, surreal quality to your picture. Amazing!
