Tony the Dancing Cop

I went back downcity to do some street photography today. As he does every year, Tony the Dancing Cop directed traffic at the corner of Weybosset and Dorrance Streets. He retired from the Providence Police Department several years ago, however his popularity was such that they bring him out of retirement every year from the beginning of December through Christmas from noon to 1:30 every weekday. I spoke to him for a bit while he warmed up and stretched. To maintain the conditioning necessary for his routine, he runs 35 miles per week and hits the gym to lift weights daily. He says that stretching daily is the key to staying injury-free. His energy level is astonishing, especially given that he's now over 70 years old.

Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, boost white, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.

Here's the high res version in Smugmug: http://kannafoot.smugmug.com/Photo-Challenges/PAD2013/i-d3DTnFR/0/XL/2013%2012%2020_0160%20copy-XL.jpg
As always, perfect composition, Ron. I wanted to see him move, so I found him on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsgABVc8l4U
