Yes, it's snowing yet again. Forecast for tonight has us getting around 7 inches before it ends just after midnight. I'm beginning to understand why people move to Arizona. In any case, taking advantage of the fading light and the increasing rate of snowfall, I went to Centredale - the small village in my hometown of North Providence - for some street photography. The brick buildings with the Town Hall in the background provided a nice backdrop to highlight the snow, and when this gentleman crossed Mineral Spring Ave completely oblivious to both the camera and the driving snow, I knew I had a good scene. He certainly did not appear to be dressed for this weather, but February we're rather accustomed to it. In fact, the temperature was hovering around 30, so it actually felt rather warm. You can keep the snow, though.

Post processing started with a neutral greyscale filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, and boost black. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.

Here's the high res version in Smugmug: http://kannafoot.smugmug.com/Photo-Challenges/PAD2014/i-pp87DhN/0/XL/2014%2002%2015_0014%20copy-XL.jpg

The scene certainly drives home your description. On our walk, we met a grandmother from Connecticut who was walking with her three-year-old grandson. She was staying for the winter because her daughter had a baby in November. She believed that her daughter's timing was exemplary.

And I was tired of snow last year after two weeks of it... Good thing I don't live in Rhode Island o.o
Another wonderful street shot, Ron :)
