Coming Home Empty

I went to Haines Point at lunch today, hoping to find folks putting their boats in the water. Knowing the RI Yacht Club is having their opening day this weekend gave me the idea. I wasn't disappointed. These two fishermen were just returning for a day in the bay, and I composed this scene of them preparing to take their boat out of the water. They came home empty, unfortunately. The only thing they caught all day was a single schoolie (an undersized striped bass) that was well below the legal limit. The water is apparently still too cold for the big stripers and blues.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
