The Artist's Viewpoint

I planned to do a bit of street photography at lunch today, so I parked at the Roger Williams National Memorial as usual. There were about a half-dozen artists there painting various scenes around the Memorial. They are taking art lessons at Hamilton House, an adult learning exchange in Providence that offers a wide variety of art related courses for adults over age 55. The artists at the Memorial today were working in different mediums, ranging from oils to washes to - as in this photo - acrylics. One woman works in "water based oils" which is a concept I'm really going to have to research since the term seems chemically contradictory in nature.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, details, boost black, and boost white. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
