Railroad Bridge Over Whitin Pond

Uxbridge, Massachusetts
Often, when I'm not sure what to photograph on a given day, I'll pull up Google Maps and just browse the map in street view looking for something of interest. That's how I found this old rusted Providence and Worcester Railroad Bridge spanning Whitin Pond in Uxbridge. The aerial view of the map suggested it was possible to get right down to the water line, and it turns out there was a small drainage gravel path I was able to use. The weeds in the foreground added some nice depth to the shot, so I decided to leave them in the composition. One thing that always amazes me anytime I see this type of bridge is the amount of graffiti in seemingly inaccessible locations. This bridge was no exception. I've no idea how people reach those spots to leave their mark, but I don't know of any bridge not so tagged.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, boost white, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
Great picture too!
