Layered Clouds

I stopped by Sabin Point at lunch today, pretty much on a whim, not really knowing what to expect. This area's hit-or-miss photographically, so it was a bit of a dice roll knowing how little time I have on a Wednesday. What caught my attention was the amazing calm in the river today. There was no wind at all. The turbines across the river were perfectly still and there was no current to speak of in the water. Then I noticed the clouds. They were getting dark, as you can see, and they appeared to form interesting layers spreading east over the river. I'm not sure what the weather forecast is for tonight, but those clouds didn't look promising.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, boost white, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
