Seekonk, Massachusetts
This old abandoned building has been on my "safety shot" list for over a year. I finally got to use it today. I needed gas for the car, and since I work near the Rhode Island / Massachusetts state line, I always cross into Seekonk, Mass to get gas. Their gas taxes are much lower than Rhode Island's and I end up paying over 20 cents per gallon less than if I bought gas near my house. While pumping gas, though, the skies opened up and it started to pour. I needed a photo that could be taken from my car since I had to return to work and really couldn't afford to get drenched. That's where my safety shot list came in handy, and this is the result. I'd love to know what this building was originally used for. It has some excellent character and suggests and interesting history.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, boost white, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
