A Trail All His Own

I went to Lincoln Woods for today's photo, and noticed these beautiful birch trees lining the path towards the beach. Every time the sun peaked through the clouds, the trees would be brilliantly illuminated. I wanted a photo of those trees with the interesting clouds behind them. What made it perfect was when this young pup came strutting down the path to check out what I was up to. His timing was perfect.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, boost white, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
