I think i prefer the old to the new, great comparison of the two.
November 1st, 2012
A great capture of the old and new, shows us how the city is now. Shame how the lovely old building is now so overpowered by the new structure.
November 1st, 2012
great contrast shot
November 1st, 2012
Nice contrast between old and new!
November 1st, 2012
Neat! That is quite a contrast. I would imagine the owners of the old don't care for the newer building dwarfing their lovely home.

Cool find! Very interesting contrast!
November 2nd, 2012
Interesting - the foreground building by an architect with delusions of grandeur and the rear by an architect with the soul of an accountant!

November 2nd, 2012
Love the contrast. The old wins.
November 2nd, 2012
Hmm not sure the back view from this house will be all that desirable; beautiful building, it is a house or an office - it would be some place to work wouldn't it?
November 2nd, 2012
@claireuk - I am not sure what it is. I just liked the contrast and the building itself. It seemed a small plot of sanity in a high-rise business area that was clearly out of control!
November 2nd, 2012
Terrific contrast!! Great shot!!

Jen

Interesting contrast, very well captured. I like the sharpness of this picture, apart from the composition.

Beautiful contrasts!
November 2nd, 2012
That's quite a contrast! - great shot!
November 2nd, 2012
This is such a striking image - so much so that I know I've seen it before, on a browsing expedition on your website, I expect?
What a beautiful building! It's good that it has been preserved but I always feel sorry for these buildings that end up squeezed between high-rises; they look as if they are being suffocated and don't have adequate room to show off their full beauty.
November 2nd, 2012
@dulciknit - Yes, t'was on my website for an article. Yes, that suffocation thing is what drew my attention. It seemed almost ridiculous being stuck there among all those sky scrapers. Pretty bizarre really.

What a great shot of something old and something new. It makes you wonder if all the old houses like this will be a thing of the past and something only seen in photos or in a museum. Well done!
November 3rd, 2012
Nice one Damon, i like how you did it. American home. The reflection is that The Gherkin.
November 3rd, 2012
@dannydavies - No not the Gherkin, but just around the corner. Not sure what the name of the building is actually.
November 3rd, 2012
Love the flat perspective, it emphasises the incongruity nicely.
November 3rd, 2012
cool contrast
November 3rd, 2012
