@maggiemae - they do happen, but less frequently than in previous years. There are very intense flood relief schemes and the Thames Barrier to stop all that. But in another 20 years London will be seriously in danger of a central London flood as the SE of England is sinking. The floods will be both life threatening and an economic disaster if they happened there. We would be talking literally trillions of pounds of damage! Watch this space!
