I spent the day decorating our Christmas tree and took lots of pictures of ornaments, but none of them hit me the way this picture did. I don't know why, but there's something lovely to me in the way the leaves are strewn across my welcome mat with the sun's rays coming through the deck railing next to the weathered wood. The days are slowly getting longer, the moon is rising earlier, and the earth is still spinning. Life goes on, and if you look for it, beauty is found in the simplest of things.
@kerristephens Thank you Kerri! @dmariewms Thank you Marie! @nicolecampbell Thank you Nicole! @daveanajao Thank you Dave- oh and I'm so glad to see the warm and sunny colors in your shots! @mrssmith Thank you Carla- we are all working on that aspect of life- only the circumstances vary. But we all feel very similar.
@digitalrn Thanks Rick. I kept processing other shots and when all was said and done I still thought, "The welcome mat shot is better." @httpgeffed Thank you Colleen. @pandorasecho Why thank you Dixie! I think that's one of the kindest coments I've ever gotten! @bkbinthecity Thank you bkb! @steeler Thank you Howard! @sarah19 Thank you Sarah!
Looks so familiar and being somewhat of an OCD type, I'm always sweeping leaves off my welcome mat ;-) Glad you were able to capture the beauty in this lovely shot.
@cimes1 I'm more faithful to sweep off the back deck than the front door because I see the back one more often- which explains why there are so many on the mat in this picture! Thanks Carole! @steeler Thanks Howard!
I appreciate both your comments on this picture!
Couldn't agree with you more, Ann. I find incredible beauty in this photo. The colors, the welcome mat itself, and the textures of the wood and leaves. And finally, God shining his lovely light through the railing.
Wow. leaves on the welcome matt..the blueness and the colorful leaves look real pretty together. here I'm always cleaning up the deck...get rid of the leaves when they look so inviting in your picture.
@bruni Thank you Bruni- sometimes I just forget to go out and sweep off the mat because I'm not looking at it. It's clear now because Jeff used the leaf blower on it the other day.
@pocketmouse Thank you Teresa! @kloud Thank you Bonnie!
This is one thing that I've noticed I developed during my year in 365- this ability to see pieces of the big picture as a picture themselves. I like it!
