Poinsettia by olivetreeann

Poinsettia

My sister brought me a beautiful Poinsettia for Christmas. The color is absolutely brilliant. I know I'll be enjoying this for a while!

Three more shots and I will hit 365. I can't believe how quickly the year has gone!
Oh my! You are so close to finishing! So exciting isn't it?

This is really a beautiful flame red. Great macro. Good for you, Ann. You've done a brilliant job on the site. Of course, we all expect you to stay with us (I know that I do!) much longer. Am looking forward to more of your photos and comments.

@annaruth Thanks Anna! Exciting and sort of bittersweet!
@kerristephens Thanks Kerri!
@sanera Thanks Samantha- yes, I'm staying on in some way shape and form- I really love this site and the creativity it brings into my life. So, while I remain unemployed, I'll still be here. I thought my final day was the 31st- but it looks like I lost count somewhere along the line!
@karenann Thanks Karenann- I wouldn't say brilliant, but I do see that I steadily improved over the course of the year- and I did have some shining moments as well. I will stay on (you may now do your happy dance) while I remain unemployed. This site truly lifts my spirits and when I'm down about my circumstances, it gets my creative juices going and perks me up. I've had such fun meeting everyone from around the globe. If I can't travel to these places, at least I can see them in pictures! So, I won't be stopping yet and I'll look forward to your comments and pictures too!

@bkbinthecity Thank you bkb- of course when it's your grandchild, it's the most beautiful decoration in the world!

It isn't Christmas without a poinsettia in the house and this one is a brilliant red.

The color is so nice and rich. So are you going to continue?
December 29th, 2011
The color is wonderful! It's so vivid!
December 29th, 2011
@sarasdadandmom Thanks Terry- she knows how much I love flowers.
@cortens Thanks Julie- it really is and this is only a small part of it; it's really quite large!
@digitalrn Thanks Rick. Yes, I just can't imagine myself not being on here while I remain unemployed. You and so many others have helped fill my days with such uplifting and wonderful support. The creative side has been a bonus too. So I'll be rounding the corner and heading into year 2!
@mrssmith Thanks Carla! I've seen other shots of this flower and each one is lovely in its own right. But this one truly is vibrant!

i love this deep shade of red here. very nice close up. maybe that would be one of my goals for next year: clear close-ups.

i, too, am hitting the 365, my first, in three day's time. still no idea what to do, i probably will just freeze my butt downtown and wait for the fireworks.

@summerfield Thanks Summerfield! You know I'm looking at the count here, and something's wrong. Dec. 31 should be #365 for me, but if this count is right, Dec. 30 is going to be #365. Hmmm... don't know how that happened.
@prttblues Thanks Bev!
@kloud Thanks Bonnie- I know it's hard to believe that the year is almost over. Although I'm not sure this count is correct. I should be finished on the 31st as far as I can see- but this # puts me a day ahead. Hmmmm...curious.
@jardika3 Thank you Jess! I appreciate your view and comment!
@steeler Thanks Howard!

beautiful - beautiful magic here ann!

@adobewaters Thank you Adobe!

@olivetreeann - that's because your first entry was in jan, 2010, then you restarted in 2011. maybe you didn't mean it to be that way. but when you upload an old photo, 365 picks up the date of that photo. it happened to me in july, when the back-up camera i was using (which was new) set itself back to 2010 and i was desperately looking for my post and found it in july 2010.
December 29th, 2011
@summerfield Wow- I don't know how it could do that but being the OCD person I am, I want to get that out of there so that everything is neat and tidy!! Guess I'll have to delete the 2010 one somehow whatever it is!
December 29th, 2011
@summerfield I did find the culprit and deletedd it- and the count changed- thanks for the tip!!
December 29th, 2011
@olivetreeann - glad i can help, you're welcome. we both are such sticklers, aren't we? :-)
December 30th, 2011
@summerfield haha we are!

Gorgeous shot of this lovely poinsettia. My year is up sometime in March and I plan to continue. Hope you do the same. You have the most interesting stories and projects & a unique and positive presence here in the 365 community.
December 31st, 2011
@cimes1 Thank you so much Carole for those kind words. I hemmed and hawed all through November and December as to continuing. I finally decided I couldn't imagine myself not being on here- at least while I remain unemployed. But I knew I would have to make some changes as far as how much time I spend on it. So I am continuing, but I won't be commenting on everyone I follow, unless it's someone like yourself who so faithfully comments on my stuff. I really appreciate how much my "faithfuls" wished for me to remain. The entire 365 community is quite positive so it's been a real boost for me! I'm glad we've met here!
