The final word of my treasure hunt-friends! And boy do I have a treasure chest full of them. I look back through the years and take such joy in the great people God has brought into my life- and blessing upon blessing- there are too many to name! So to represent all those wonderful people I pulled out two little friendship treasures- one from the past and one from the present. The picture was taken in 1999 when my friend Sue (on the right), Betty (on the left) and myself (center) traveled to California to visit Sue's sister. We had so much fun in one of those photo booths on the Santa Monica pier getting that picture- the three of laughing like school girls while the camera clicked away. The friendly little birds were a gift this Christmas from my swimming buddy Dianne. It reads "Friends: Life's Cherished Blessings". And my friends have certainly proved that to be true!
@allie912 I used to love singing that song in Scouts. We sang it as a round I think. I had also thought of the Joan Walsh Anglund book- A Friend Is Someone Who Likes You, but I couldn't get to the box in my attic with it easily enough this evening. Maybe some other time! Thanks Allison! So glad to have met you on 365!
Well done on getting through the treasure hunt - I still have lots of words to go! Lovely that you have such amazing friends, and I love your little birds too :)
@twinsplusone Thank you Sharon- friendship is easy to write about when you have good friends! @dbjohnson Thanks Dean! Not my best picture, but not bad for how sleepy I was feeling yesterday! @bkbinthecity Thanks Brian! @kloud Thanks Bonnie- I hear the clanking of my glass against yours. @melorac Thanks Carole- well, that's great! It's nice to know this shot was an inspiration to you! @alia_801 Thanks Alia! I'm glad this one's finished for now. I'm going to take about a week off just to take whatever I want and then I've been wanting to do the "found alphabet" (see the science picture of my treasure hunt for a visible explanation of that). And I'm going to pull out my old slr and do some shooting with that too under the Film Challenge. Let me know if you want to make the "Found Alphabet" official when you're done with the Treasure Hunt and I'll wait for you. @digitalrn Thanks Rick! Some items in my house were moved for this shot- but that is the book shelf where that picture usually sits. @woot Thanks Davide! I wasn't going to do something so similar after the one from the other night, but that wasn't part of this challenge, so I bent my own "rules"!
@prttblues@cimes1 thank you Bev and Carole! My friend Dianne knows I love watching the birds at my birdfeeder, so it was the perfect little knick-knack for me.
@kerristephens Thank you Kerri!
@potsbypam Thanks Pam!
@pandorasecho Thanks Dixie!
@karenann Thanks Karenann!
Thanks to all of my "newest" friends here on 365- you are definitely among those many cherished blessings!
@rhubbard Thank you Richard!
One of the great things about 365 is meeting and making friends with folks like you as each comment is made!
