Up

Just when I thought I'd take a rest from those challenges, I find a new list that captures my fancy. Am I addicted to these things?? This challenge is called the March Photo A Day and the first word up is...up. So to fulfill the challenge and answer the burning question of "What was that a picture of yesterday?", here's a shot looking up the broom whose bristles were featured in yesterday's shot. Bravo to all who figured it out!
Mmmm - not quite pasta! Great rustic feel to the pic and love the challenge idea ... looking forward to it!

Good job with both.

@beachradish Thanks Beachradish! This one lent itself to the sepia tone.
@bruni Thanks Bruni- sometimes they do help ward off those uninspired days by making you think creatively about something you wouldn't necessarily take a picture of.
@kerristephens Thanks Kerri!
@ellimae Thanks Ellen! Yesterday's shot set the "tone" so to speak!
@woot Thanks Davide! Yesterday's shot was just enough out of the ordinary because it was shot in sepia. I think that threw a few of you off.
@kimmistephens Thanks Kimmi!
@pandorasecho Thanks Dixie!

I thought it was a close-up shot of some weeds.
March 2nd, 2012
@digitalrn Thanks Rick- well it has nothing to do with weeds, but it does a great job of sweeping off the dead leaves, wood chips and snow that falls on the deck. (o:

@twinsplusone Thanks Sharon- good for you!!
@alia_801 Thanks Alia- I really wanted to post my woodpecker, so I had to figure out a way to reveal the answer to the puzzle and post "up". @nicolecampbell Thanks Nicole- you might be right!
@summerfield Thanks Vikki- glasses? or stress reduction? My swimming partner is having similar troubles- I think hers are stress related. She is a very hyper person!
@steeler thanks Howard!

Love the POV

@peterdegraaff Thanks Peter. I like the fact that adding in the challenge made me shoot this broom from a different angle. I might have thought of it myself, but the challenge definitely sped up the process of thinking that way.

The challenges do bring some fresh air into anyone's work. I love this and the sepia tone...and of course, the upward angle.

Great POV.

@la_photographic Thanks Laura- I don't know if I would have shot this broom at all, much less this way- but the day before I was desperate for a shot and the bristles were handy. On this day I'd just started the March challenge and "Up" was the word of the day, so, it dictated how the answer shot had to be taken- sometimes working with boundaries actually helps you improve your skills, which is what I think happened to me here.

Awesome perspective and coloring!
March 5th, 2012
@deniseinindy Thanks Denise- every now and then I just set the camera on sepia and see how things turn out. This shot ended up in sepia because the shot on the previous day was also in sepia, but I actually think it was probably best this way anyhow.

Wonderful!
