Today's word is fruit. Any time, actually every time, I hear this word, a Bible verse always pops in to my mind, illustrating characteristics that I hope are evident in my life: The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23). Whatever is inside you is the kind of fruit your life will produce. I hope when my children and grandchildren think of me, they think of this kind of fruit.
I was playing around with the processing again today and I liked the way this turned out. It's drab and gray outside again, but these colors make me think of a nice sunny beach somewhere with warmer temperatures and gentler breezes.
@allie912 Thanks Allison- that's just how I put them in there from the store! And believe it or not, it's a Granny Smith- the processing really changed the color!
Your comment is so beautiful, Ann. Oh how I wish that I had all of those virtues 24/7. :) Alas, I am human and have frailties. Great photo and processing.
@karenann Thank you Karenann- you and me both! But we shouldn't stop trying, right? (o: @potsbypam thanks Pam! @kerristephens thanks Kerri! @nicolecampbell thanks Nicole- yes (o: What will I do without Picnik!? @mrssmith thanks Carla- I am sooooo happy to see your post here! I am worried about all my 365 friends in IN, IL, MO etc.
@bkbinthecity Thanks Brian- sounds like Melody's study group had the right idea! @kimmistephens Thanks Kimmi! I think I see a photo for Miss Rastafarian Duckie that involves fruit coming up.
wow i mean it - i just went out on my deck - morning ritual with coffee and cig - and had to come back and tell you thank you for your words - i know the actual words are not yours but - you have given my awareness focus for today - thanks!
@tklein Thank you Tina! @alia_801 Thank you Alia! @peterdegraaff Thank you Peter- yes I was glad the texture of the oranges was not lost in the processing fun. @sarasdadandmom Thank you Terry! I think that will be true of your life- I see it in the posts about your daughter. @digitalrn Thanks Rick- love nectarines and peaches! @steeler Thanks Howard!!
yes, i recognize the apple. i've actually looked at this post last night and read your caption and it got me thinking real hard that's why i didn't write a comment. come to think of it, you always have such wise things to write and it always get me analyzing things. not that it's a bad thing, sometimes i just think too much.
lovely processing, i just don't know if i will eat a purple apple. much like i wouldn't touch that purple ketchup that they introduced a while back. well, i'd probablyh eat a purple apple before i'd try to purple ketchup. wonderful, as always, ann. love it.
@pandorasecho Thanks Dixie! I appreciate your kind words! @twinsplusone Thanks Sharon- I could get really carried away with it, so I'm always trying to keep it in balance! @cimes1 Thank you Carole. You always have something so nice to say! @summerfield Thank you so much Vikki- I think a lot too- and all my thinking usually ends up in something I write! Purple ketchup? I don't think I'd want that either! @adobewaters (o:
@prttblues Thank you Bev- that is so nice of you to say- I feel like I'm improving on here to the point where I wish I'd gotten into photography sooner. I might be doing all kinds of interesting things with it now had I developed that talent. @la_photographic Thank you Laura!
@netkonnexion Thanks Netkonnexion- the colors were achieved through the vibrance and infared effects in Picnik. I was really surprised to see how it made the Granny Smith apple (which is green) that purple color!
This is lovely - I 'caught' it earlier in the week and found the passage in Galatians last night - copied it out at school and put it on the staff noticeboard! We have what we call 'values' - each half term we pick one and the children talk about it and get a 'leaf' with their name on if they eg do something unselfish or kind or friendly... the leaves go onto the huge cut-out tree in the assembly hall at the achievers assembly each week. I really felt that the verses summed it up and being a church school, everyone who saw it felt encouraged that we are promoting the right things in our little village school!
So glad I 'found it' again today and could tell you. :)
@filsie65 Wow Phil, I can't tell you how honored and blessed I am that this little picture became a part of the values program at your school. I taught Bible at a Christian School for 2 years and miss it terribly! (I was laid off due to lack of funds two years ago and haven't found another position since then.) I will keep you in my prayers and I hope the students enjoy watching their fruit grow!
@olivetreeann Hi again! Went to a concert last night, held at a church I'd never been to before though a dearly-departed friend was rector there for many years before I knew him. (The concert was Kenny Ball). On the wall beside us was a display with ... yes... fruit of the spirit! The kids had been driving me potty so perhaps it was a timely reminder! :)
@filsie65 Yes, sometimes God seems to send us those messages a few times over, doesn't He? God bless your work with the children, and may He also help your fruit to grow through your work with them! Thanks for sharing your story with me. It's a blessing to see how a little picture can have such a big effect on others. (o:
