@httpgeffed Thanks Colleen. This was a fun edit. The leaf actually was on a bed of brown leaves, but I put the whole shot in sepia and then brought the yellow leaf back in. I then softened the shot, and once again brought the yellow leaf back in- in focus. I really liked how it completely set the yellow leaf apart this way.
@pjonas Thank you Patty! @la_photographic Thank you Laura! @vposey Thank you Vickie! @melorac Thank you Carole! @kerristephens Thank you Kerri! @nicolecampbell Thank you Nicole! @anazad511 Thank you Ana! My ankle is improving a bit. It's still an ugly black and blue as well as swollen, but it does not hurt as badly and the swelling is going down. I stayed off of it again today for the most part. Thank you for asking! @lyno Thank you Lyn! I liked the idea I had for this. It truly was in the original one yellow leaf on a bed of brown leaves. But I really wanted the yellow one to stand out so I put it in sepia and then painted the original back in on the yellow leaf. I then did the same thing with the soften effect. It worked perfectly. @karenann Thank you Karenann- had a lot of help from nature on this one and I just brought out the color a bit more. @prttblues Thanks Bev- oh you can do this! It's really not as hard as it seems. Take your shot in color. The next step is to convert it to black and white or sepia. While in that effect you can "paint" the original back in. And Ribbet has an effect called "focal black and white" which is specifically for selective coloring, so it's really easy on that one. @digitalrn Thanks Rick! This one's soon (straight out of nature) as that's the way it was when I found it. @bkbinthecity Thanks Brian! @sarasdadandmom Thanks Terry!
Thank you so much everyone! I do like this shot. The fun thing was I was talking on the phone with my friend while I took it! There I am in the back yard wandering around with portable phone in one hand and the camera in the other! lol
Thank you Karen, Phil, Sally, Alia, Peter, Geertje, Marie, Livia, Dione, Carla and Jackie!
@jackie8 Thank you Jackie! I do think carefully about which shot and what to use selective coloring on because I think it can be overused and overdone. My main rule of thumb is that the effect must make sense to be used on the picture- that way it doesn't become "cutsy" or trite.
@cimes1 Thank you Carole. This was a perfect shot for that as it was basically already done by Mother Nature. @tara11 Thank you Tara and thank you for the fav too! @pandorasecho Thank you Dixie! You can see hints of it already on the ends. @ruthmouch Thank you Ruth!

Thank you Nada! It just took what was naturally there and punched it up a notch. @sparkleplenty1 Thanks Joyce- and we are getting some spectacular colors this year due to the dry summer.
I like the way the background recedes and the green leaf seems to float above it: always a good sign when an image causes you to do a double take I think.
