The final four shots of Flash of Red February are here- wow! We get to choose our own theme this week from "sneak a peek", abstract, or unique pov. I've done quite a few abstracts so I thought I should change things up a bit. I decided to go for the "sneak a peek" shots since I haven't done much "street" photography. I don't know if they amount to much or be that interesting, but I've been trying new things all month, so why not go out with a bang! I caught this lady taking her afternoon walk as I was leaving the auto shop where I had my car inspected. I had just turned out of the parking lot and I slowed the car down to an absolute standstill. I was sure she was going to turn around to see who was stalking her! But she didn't so I was able to pull off a quick shot.
Thank you Kerri, Colleen, Ellen, and Terry! ( @sarasdadandmom A while back I did two challenges and put one in my first album and one in my second album and absolutely hated that I no place to just take a shot and post it. So it's only one challenge at time now!)
Nice shot. She looks so alone walking down the road. There's kind of a sad feel about this photo. At least for me there is. You did great. Well done, Ann! :)
@maggiemae Thanks Maggie! She was very focused- almost power walking but in a heavy coat that's not easy to do. I'm glad she wasn't really paying attention to me. I didn't want to spook her! @bkbinthecity Thanks Brian! @summerfield Thanks Vikki! I don't know- either that or she walks there regularly and is used to cars driving slowly along the road. ?? @pflaume Thanks Lisa! I was taking the photo so quickly I was hoping I'd get a nice composition without the hood of the car, so I was very pleased to be at this spot with the curve just right! @salza Thanks Sally! Maybe she was. Her stride was very purposeful. @prttblues Thanks Bev! I really thought it odd to see her in this particular area. But it's a bit of a mish-mash; some businesses like UPS and the auto shop where I got the inspection and a few homes mixed in for good measure. It does have a desolate feel to it. But in reality, it's a busy place. @alia_801 Thanks Alia! lol Wait 'til you see today's shot! @cimes1 Thanks Carole! If it'd been me, I'd be turning to see if I was in the car's way. But she might be used to it. Your guess is as good as mine!
Thank you Jennifer, Kathryn and Tanja! lol Jennifer and Tanja- I was in a motor vehicle- even if she'd run at me, one touch on the gas pedal and I would be out of reach! Nothing brave about this shot at all!
@automaticslim Thanks Andy- this is really the only one I intentionally took to post. When I didn't get out the other two days, I used the odd-ball back-ups. Oh well, we can't be experts at everything! lol
@nicolecampbell lol Nicole, thanks! But no- on the crosswalk shot, the last student totally saw me taking the shot, even though I was pretending to look at something on my camera! Totally busted!!
