Back tracking today and posting the "Something I like to do at home" entry for the Me March challenge. I like to bird watch out my sliding door and check out who's at the bird feeder. We've had Goldfinches stopping by the last few days. Their feathers aren't quite golden yet, but their appearance means Spring is on its way!
For those who liked the processing, I truly appreciate the feedback because I wasn't certain about this. I'd shot them in sepia, but the picture lacked pizzaz. So I decided to play around with some of the new Ribbet effects and landed on this one. The first thing I applied was one of the new Vintage effects, but it made the shot black and white. At first I was going to leave it, but then I tried one of the new "place" effects and it put the sepia back in which I preferred. I think this is called Cairo (if it's not Cairo, it's Morocco) and it adds that worn weathered look to the photo. I wasn't sure if it was a little over the top, but your reactions put that doubt out of my mind.
the binoculars stay out on our kitchen counter, too, Ann. . .and the finches have stayed with us all winter long. . .it is so much fun to watch the brighter plumage beginning to appear!
I do the same and used to do it more before my 365 days ;-) Every morning I sat on the screened porch with binoculars and a cup of coffee. Now I'm at the computer.....LOL Love the look here.....cool shot!
@pflaume Thanks Lisa! I've always "noticed" things but I think I see even more now thanks to 365. @jsw0109 Thank you Jeff! @lyno Thank you Lyn! I know- the changing feathers and "warmer" days (if you can call 40-50 degrees warm!) have given me hope that Spring might actually arrive! @bkbinthecity Thanks Brian! @alia_801 Thanks Alia! @la_photographic Thanks Laura! @sangwann Thanks Dione! @anazad511 Thanks Ana! Yes, #5, another grandson, is due July 7th. We are all quite excited. The only thing I'm worried about is what name they might pick- lol. Last time they started out with Cairin- weird spelling of Kearin- which was also too much like a girl's name for me, and Kaiser. Thankfully after the lack luster responses from folks they changed to Isaac. Whew! I hope we don't have to go through that again! lol @cimes1 Thank you Carole! @filsie65 Thank you Phil! Mine fly away from the camera too. But we're far enough away with the binoculars that they don't seem to mind. @mrssmith Thank you Carla! @demmie Thank you Demmie!
@tanja_1211 Thanks Tanja! I am only a bird feeder bird watcher! I've never had the time or money to become more than that- but it's amazing what shows up in the backyard when you're watching it. I've not only seen some interesting birds that way but some fun critters too.
@kerristephens Thanks Kerri!
@eniaral Thanks Laraine
@henrir Thanks Henri!
@jocasta Thanks Jo!
