Well, after a week of hot, hot, hot days with temperatures in the 90's and humidity as thick as pea soup, the weather for today's Try 4 July words of hot and humid was... in the low 80's and had not one ounce of humidity in it! It was wonderful!! I even turned off the fans! So I took an over-exposed shot of the sunny deck, added the water color effect to give it a touch of color and voila- this is what a hot and humid day looks like in the Poconos.
@digitalrn Thanks Rick! I am wearing a sweater right now!! I'm so happy!! @pflaume Thank you Lisa! It's feeling more like Fall right now, but I am NOT!! complaining! (o:
I like your creativity in this treatment. Much better to look at than to live through. I think we are getting some of that less humid weather here in Richmond tomorrow.
Nicely done. I have met someone who knows about water gilding and was advised not to lay the gold when the weather is humid. So I'm stuck, waiting for some north winds to continue.
You did not get too lucky with the words you had to shoot and your weather! But you did a great job of "Creating the weather" When I need a certain kind of weather...rain...sun...etc.. I will call you and get you to make me some!
Lovely exposure! Today was cooler and less humid here too. I like the respite from the hot and humid weather. Your shot does create the mood of hot and humid.
@allie912 Thank you Allison- absolutely true! It's fun to look at the shot and after two wonderfully cool days, I really don't want to go back to this weather at all. However, reality is it's still July and we have August and September to get through before the cool days are here to stay. @summerfield Thank you Vikki! @kerristephens Thank you Kerri! @nicolecampbell Thank you Nicole! Brrrrr! I hope you have some nice heat to keep you toasty warm at home. But I must say your winter shots have been beautiful so far! @bkbinthecity Thank you Brian! @sangwann Thank you Dione! That must be so frustrating! The clock is looking beautiful though, so it will be worth waiting for the right temperatures to apply the gilding. @salza Thank you Sally! I don't like the extremely hot days, and I don't really like the extremely cold days. They both effect my arthritis and make it hard to get around. I like the temps in the 70's or 80's. And no humidity! @alia_801 Thanks Alia! When you can't shoot it, process it!! That might be my 365 motto. @yaorenliu Thank you Yao! @dakotaburns Thank you Donald! Actually it is a watercolor effect with some fiddling with the colors to bring out the yellows. @espyetta Thank you Marybeth! haha I think I have created a new motto for my 365 project: When you can't shoot it, process it! @jesperani Thank you Jennifer! @stownsend Thank you Suzie! @pandorasecho Thank you Dixie! I thought, "Hot and humid- looks like melting butter" hence all the yellow. @maggiemae Thanks Maggie! Whenever it's hot and humid here, it feels like everything is melting. @henrir Thanks Henri! And we had another nice one today too. I am a happy camper! @daisy Thanks Kathryn! I think you folks also have the same kind of hot and humid weather we do here. It has always bothered me, but even more so now with my arthritis.
Nice shot, Ann! :) Cool processing. You definitely made it look hot and humid! 80s still requires fans for me. I don't open my place up until temps get to at least 79 or lower!! They are nice now! Good job on this one!! :)
@potsbypam Hi Pam! Good to see you here again! lol I know what you mean- on Friday last week I decided in spite of the fact that the room I normally put the ac in was stacked from front to back, floor to ceiling with furniture and books as we are painting the living room, I was still going to go to the crawl space and get the little ac to put in there. I did, nearly wrenched my back out in the process and now have a huge black and blue where I rested the corner of the ac while I was getting it into the house! I used it a little bit on Saturday- and then the weather turned nice! I guess I'm not really complaining. I'd rather have the nice weather- but why did I wait so long?! @prttblues Thanks Bev! I'm really enjoying the cooler temps, but I know it will be short-lived. After all it's still July and we have August and September to go through still.
