I went to the Carbon County Fair today to take in some local color and watch the antique tractor pull. Most of the tractors in the competition were from the Forties and Fifties but they'd been taken great care of. Every tractor seems to have its own personality. But some of the characters on top of the tractors were just as interesting! I was having fun with the zoom again. It didn't matter if the guys were all the way on the opposite side of the track- the zoom picked up every detail as if I was right there. Doesn't the one on the end look like he should be named "Bubba"?
I did a good job representing the major tractor brands here too! From left to right: John Deere, Farmall, Allis Chalmers, and Oliver.
I'm not sure why the camera isn't showing up in the info- but this was taken with the Canon Power Shot XS50 HS
@taffy Thanks Taffy! I have a few more shots that I'll be posting on and off. It was a great day for people watching and the 50x zoom on this camera makes it so easy to take a discreet shot!
@daisymiller Thanks Daisy! I have those too and considered a larger collage to include them but in the end, the fellows deserved center stage. Yes, the tractor shots are very typical and I think your assessment is spot on.
Carbon Co., PA? My dad was born in that area and lived in or near McAdoo before the family moved to South Bend, Indiana a year after he was born. Great catch of the different tractor models and you caught some great candids of the drivers.
Thanks everyone for the comments and views! The fair was really fun and a was a nice reflection on all the agriculture and talent in Carbon Cty. And yes- it was Carbon County PA Carole!
@prttblues Thanks Bev- LOL Buck, Bo, Bobby Lee and Bubba (whose real name was Buford which he hated and made everyone call him Bubba instead). @vesna0210 Thanks Vesna!
