I thought I'd revisit a landscape shot from May today and see what it would look like in black and white. In the color version the clouds are not as easy to distinguish, but the details of the trees are better. I'm not sure what caused the blurry spots on the water, but this picture was taken from The Maid of the Mist boat as we headed towards the whirlpool at the base of Niagara Falls. It's one of the bridges that connects the USA to Canada.
It's amazing how effective changing a picture into B&W can be. Thank you so much for organising this month I'm really enjoying it. This is a great picture. The weather was so bad when I was there I didn't brave the boat!
Thank you to one and all! It was fun to revisit this and see what black and white processing could do for it. I'll probably be revisiting quite a few pictures this week as it's a busy one for my camera club.
Great in BW. I agree that the POV is beautiful. I am finding that black and white processing is different sometimes on various parts of an image. I haven't quite figured out this though.

Thank you Jane!
Thank you Daisy! Yes, the shot I was working on today certainly followed that pattern. I processed three different areas in three different ways.
