Flash of Red 8

I thought I'd revisit a landscape shot from May today and see what it would look like in black and white. In the color version the clouds are not as easy to distinguish, but the details of the trees are better. I'm not sure what caused the blurry spots on the water, but this picture was taken from The Maid of the Mist boat as we headed towards the whirlpool at the base of Niagara Falls. It's one of the bridges that connects the USA to Canada.
Wonderful! Love your POV and the clarity of the bridge.

Beautiful scene. I wonder what the Niagara Falls would look like in b & W.

The clouds are beautiful floating above that huge bridge.

As a person who has been to Niagra Falls numerous times in my life, this is a lovely b&w shot, it looks fabulous.

It's amazing how effective changing a picture into B&W can be. Thank you so much for organising this month I'm really enjoying it. This is a great picture. The weather was so bad when I was there I didn't brave the boat!

Very nice POV.

A wonderful image for sure! could the blurry spots be water drops that didn't show in the color version?

Thank you to one and all! It was fun to revisit this and see what black and white processing could do for it. I'll probably be revisiting quite a few pictures this week as it's a busy one for my camera club.

I agree! It is a beautiful pov!

Great in BW. I agree that the POV is beautiful. I am finding that black and white processing is different sometimes on various parts of an image. I haven't quite figured out this though.

Thank you Jane!
Thank you Daisy! Yes, the shot I was working on today certainly followed that pattern. I processed three different areas in three different ways.

Great shot. I like the shape of the bridge and the flowing water.
