One of the "assignments" in Flash of Red February this week was to imagine you are given the opportunity to display eight photographs in a nearby gallery. What photographs would you choose to best depict you as an artist? We could also opt to take pictures we posted earlier in our projects and re-work them in black and white. I decided to combine the two somewhat. As I thought about which photographs I'd choose, the ones that stood out to me were the ones that had my unique point of view. I like little details and close-ups of them. I like looking at common things in an uncommon but not unusual way. I like working with positive and negative space.
And I also thought about some of the things that 365 has made me look at differently- like my kitchen sink! Who would have thought it would be such a nice background to so many different objects?! I have posted my measuring spoons before, but I decided to reshoot them in the sink with the idea of purposely converting them to black and white as one of my eight shots to show.
Here are my twin spoons as I've said before. They look wonderful and I love the fine detail in the lettering. I like how you've combined the 2 challenges.
@dibzgreasley Thanks Debs! I knew what I wanted to post first, and I know what I will post last. Now all I need is to know what to post for the 6 in-between!
@pandorasecho Thank you Dixie- you are such a special friend- and to think we haven't "officially" met yet! Somehow I think we'd just spend hours telling each other stories!
You sound very much like me in lots of ways. It's interesting that both of us have similar thoughts and ideas about photography and yet the outcome is so different from the two of us! I really like this picture ! FAV!
Thank you Phoebe, Alia, DS, Graham, Dione, Wendy, Katy, Diane, Brian, Sarah, Disha, Joyce, Kathy and Alta! Thank you for your favs, your kind words about my style and thoughts and just for being the great support you are to my project!

Thank you Jen! I think I am starting to feel I have a style with this kind of picture.
