30 Days in April 9

We don't have an electric can opener so this gets used quite often!
I am almost positive this qualifies for the artist challenge too Ann! Terrific shot

@grammyn Thanks Katy- I have to track down the tag again! I had thought that too.

cool editing
April 10th, 2019
Nice editing.
April 10th, 2019
Well done. We use a manual one too
April 10th, 2019
Another nifty shot! Like to pov!
April 10th, 2019
you have too many n's in the rkentonnelson.
April 10th, 2019
Wonderful editing! I have used an electric can opener for so many years now that I would have to figure out how to use this one :)
April 10th, 2019
I have never seen the point in an electric can-opener unless someone's got hand problems.
April 10th, 2019
I have an old fashioned can opener like this too. I wish they would put ring pulls on all the cans and then we wouldn't need this kitchen gadget at all.
April 10th, 2019
it's all I've got too - this processing is very distinctively your style
April 10th, 2019
Do you know I don't own an electric can opener either. I think they are dirty things. But I don't use my hand one much.
April 10th, 2019
nice processing !
April 10th, 2019
It looks like it’s made of gold!
April 10th, 2019
Love your faffing!
April 10th, 2019
Love the processing. Fantastic background color!
April 10th, 2019
Excellent. We don't have an electric can opener either. :)
April 10th, 2019
...where did this colour come from
April 10th, 2019
We don’t have electric either. But ours isn’t so fancy. I’ll have to try post processing it. Love the colors.
April 10th, 2019
A striking image... love the processing.
April 10th, 2019
Great processing.
April 10th, 2019
Never understand why to do it electrical. Great shot, and processing, on this nice tool pic.
April 10th, 2019
Love the futuristic look you've given this

@lynnz @onewing @bkbinthecity @edorreandresen @summerfield @dsp2 @golftragic @nicolecampbell @shannejw @joansmor @cocobella @kjarn @louannwarren @sunnygirl @mittens @peterday @shutterbug49 @kwind @haskar @pyrrhula @francoise

Thank you so much everyone! I had no idea how many people still use a "manual" can opener- cool! And if you don't that's ok too!

@sunnygirl @peterday Believe it or not, that's my kitchen counter color! I did not pick it out, it came with the house and it's too costly to replace it. So, I have teal countertops. But I don't really mind them.

@shannejw thanks Shanne- although this actually my attempt to copy Kenton Nelson's painting style. I like it and will probably continue to use it on other photos after this artist challenge round is over.

I do like this processing you're using. Makes for intriguing images of the mundane objects.
April 11th, 2019
@taffy Thank you Taffy! I've been using it for the artist challenge but I think I'll continue with this technique after the challenge because I like what it does too.
April 11th, 2019
Perfect for the artist challenge. I have never used an electric can opener.
April 11th, 2019
@salza Thank you Sally! I have not used one in my home since I was married over 40 years ago! It's really interesting to me how many people don't use them as opposed to those who do. I never imagined there were so many people who don't. And I think that's a good thing too!
April 12th, 2019
No electric can opener at this address either. This type can open many more cans of different sizes.
April 12th, 2019
Such an awesome image Ann, the closest to the artist so far! I absolutely love it, which processing did you use to achieve this?
April 12th, 2019
@randystreat Thank you Kathy! I have come to believe that there are more people with manual can openers than electric ones thanks to this post!

@ludwigsdiana Thank you Diana! I used BeFunky's cartoon and underpainting effects. And this is my favorite too!
April 13th, 2019
@olivetreeann Thanks so much for the info Ann, I have BeFunky but seldom use it. Now I see that it was a mistake ;-)
April 13th, 2019
Nice job...thank you for entering. :)
April 15th, 2019
@ludwigsdiana Whenever I want to do something really artsy BeFunky is my go-to program. Have fun with it and glad to share the info!

@gardenfolk Thanks CC! I have really had fun imitating him but I didn't tag everything- just the ones I thought were the best.
April 16th, 2019
I am rather surprised that this has not been chosen Ann! As far as I can tell, there is only one other image that comes close to the work of the artist ;-)
April 22nd, 2019
@ludwigsdiana Thank you Diana- I was too as I thought it was the closest to his work BUT I've learned you can never second guess "judges". However, one of my other shots did get selected so I am pleased to have been included.
