@jmj Yes we are Jennifer! Right now the thermometer on my deck is reading 120 degrees F. I'm sure it's not actually that hot (it sits in the direct sun and is not scientifically dependable), but I'm pretty sure we're at the 100 degree mark. Wish we could blow some heat over to you to help warm things up!
@jmj@roejan@digitalrn Thanks Jennifer, Roe Jan and Rick! In spite of the heat, we needed food, so I ventured out today and saw a sign with the temp. posted at 103 degrees! I can honestly say I don't remember it ever being that hot here! I used this photo to start a discussion so others could post their summer sun pictures- be sure to take a look. Some wonderful pictures have already been posted!
Great picture! You know, you might think about taking a picture just like this one in three months to see how it changes...and maybe get one every season. I like the poem as well!
@mrssmith I don't know if I'll be in Batavia every season to take the shot, but I was thinking about doing that same idea with the Bushkill (Creek) that runs near our house. I took a picture of it in March when it was a raging river. Now it's so low, you wouldn't be able to imagine it at flood stage. So, I think I'll take you up on that suggestion with a twist...
@bkbinthecity Thanks bkb- I took several shots playing around with the ISO and settings on my camera. This was my favorite because of the solar flare, but they all came out pretty good (if I do say so myself!).
