Family

It's always more fun to travel with someone which Milo learns as he drives along with the Watchdog. Their journey gives Milo an opportunity to learn more about Tock, as he is called by his family, and how he came to be a watchdog.

Family is a huge part of my life. It is extremely important to me. So I didn't think I'd have a problem taking a picture depicting family. I had a couple ideas in mind and was leaning towards taking a picture of all my family portraits on the mantel- my family heritage so to speak, but then I realized I had a better picture from Leigh's overnight stay. I'd love to say "Gampy" is reading The Phantom Tollbooth to her in this shot, but it's Little House on the Prairie- another classic! I just love how she's snuggled up and practically asleep as Jeff reads the last paragraph of that night's chapter.

When Jeff and I became husband and wife, it was the beginning of a new chapter in our family. When our first son was born, the definition changed again. And when son number two joined us, the family and my understanding of the word grew again. Then we had the joy of welcoming two beautiful daughters-in-law into our family. At each one of these passages, it seemed our family was complete. But family is never stagnant. It's a constant work in progress! We learned that the day our first grandchild (Leigh) arrived! And now there's two more grandchildren to love and one on the way! I can't even imagine how it will feel if I live long enough to see Leigh have children- that is beyond me right now! But this word, family, will always be one of the most cherished and treasured words I know.
precious!

Truly brings tears to my eyes, Ann. This is such a lovely capture of Grandpa and granddaughter. Love the colors and the sleepy little girl! But I'll bet that she's still listening. Wonderful! :)

@mrssmith Thanks Carla- wow that sounds like it was a great trip. I loved these books as a young girl- read each one more than once and then some! I couldn't really enjoy the tv series because it was such a departure from the book it drove me crazy! Anyway- thanks!
