After Sara's graduation today we headed over to see my father. Sara and her sister (who also just graduated from college) wore their caps and gowns so Dad could see his two graduate granddaughters. Afterwards Diana and I took a walk along her road and watched the sun set over the beautiful Green Mountains. The deepening shades of twilight seemed so appropriate as we talked about Dad's health and declining abilities. The twilight of a life is hard on those whose sun is many days away from setting.
Beautiful words for a happy, yet sad, day! All strength for what lies ahead. Ann, I've just been through that and can understand what you are experiencing.
This is gorgeous! I love the far off cloud and the beautiful colors of the sin's light reflecting off. The declining years are scary and hard...at least he has you guys who have his back. :0)
Thanks to all. It turns out that the picture I took of Dad and my nieces was the last we will have of him- but what a wonderful occasion to be celebrating!
