I'm sitting here admiring its beauty, and I am also sitting here knowing it would also look great in B/W or Sepia.

This is an excellent shot! I try doing close ups like this but they don't come out as pretty.

@prttblues You have to take a bunch of them- this is one out of six. Two were completely deleted because the camera refused to focus on the rose. Two were "eh" half focused and half not, but ok in general. The last two, one was completely focused and lovely, but very typical. The reason I liked this one best was because of the composition (not quite on center) and the soft edges of the petals closest to the view finder. There is one thing about this camera, it definitely has a sweet spot for macros. I can't always seem to find it, but when it's on, it's great. It wasn't quite on for this shot, so not every petal is perfectly focused. But in the end, I preferred the effect- as if I'd done it that way on purpose. I really think you have to shoot at least a dozen with florals because you can't always "see" the minute details through the lens. It's only when you upload that you can see the finer details and pick the best one.
