Our first sight-seeing stop in Boston was the New England Aquarium. We really enjoyed the "Coral Reef" which you can walk around all the way from the bottom to the top!
Top row: Taking pictures of the coral reef, coral, a walrus entertains on-lookers and a view from the top of the coral reef tank.
Center: On lookers listen to Aquarium personnel talk about penguins while a whale model hangs overhead.
Bottom row: Tropical fish, who's watching who- a sea turtle takes a look at two boys who are watching him, Dianne and I sporting our 3D glasses in the IMAX theater and penguins posing in the penguin pool.
@kerristephens Thanks Kerri! @pjonas Thanks Patty! @sparkleplenty1 Thanks Joyce! lol those glasses make me look awful! We saw the one about the polar bears- can't remember the name though. My favorite parts were whenever they were doing aerial shots. I loved the feeling of flying! @httpgeffed Thanks Colleen!
A beautiful collage and memory of your day out. You and Dianne get to see some places! Lovely shot of you both in the bottom row. The electric blue feel of the pic is gorgeous.
@prttblues Thanks Bev! You'd really enjoy yourself here I think! @jesperani Thanks Jennifer. Yes, it's a lot of fun. The coral reef tank is 3 stories high and the walkway spirals around it so that you get to see everything. The turtle was funny because he was just as interested in the people watching him as they were interested in watching him! @sangwann lol thanks Dione! @kandernob Thanks Karen! I was the lucky one here. Dianne's son owns a dog and needed someone to watch her while he was on vacation. Dianne can't drive long distances. So I drove her to Arlington (just outside of Boston) and she treated me to a week of sight-seeing. She's a great friend!
@wenbow Thanks Wendy- the coral reef sets the tone for the whole aquarium. It's in the center and you walk around it from the bottom to top. The blue of its water permeates the entire complex.
